Crowd-pleasing cup, moderate sweetness, hints of praline almond, vanilla, and cocoa. Bittersweet chocolate tones can really be dialed up in dark roasts. City to Full City+. Good for espresso.
Full Cupping Notes:
Grinding the light roasts brought up a malted chocolate note in the sweetness, with mild impressions of raw cashew nut, and cocoa powder. The wet aroma pulled out a smells of chocolate and caramel, along with nutty notes of toffee almond and pistachio. Full City roast also showed promising bittersweetness that bodes well in the brew. At City+, the cup sweetness has a toasted sugar flavor, with hints of praline almond, chocolate malted grains, and a vanilla note. Low tones are moderate in the light roast, and offer bittersweet suggestions in the finish, along with a toasted barley tea note. Full City and Full City+ roasts draw out inky dark chocolate flavors, flourless torte, and more intense bittering, like baking cocoa, in the aftertaste. This is great option for chocolate-forward espresso shots on its own, or as a body/bittersweet ingredient in a blend.
