Roast versatility and balanced flavors, mild acidity, caramel-toned and creamy. Notes of milk chocolate, hazelnut, vanilla, biscotti, chocolate-covered almond, and drinking cocoa. City to Full City+. Good for espresso.
Full Cupping Notes
Finca San Miguel Bourbon stood out as being versatile in brew methods and the balanced flavors ought to please the crowd. Grinding a City + roast released a scent of caramel, with accents of molasses bread, and chocolate crinkle cookie. Pouring the hot water on the grinds developed bolstered sweetness a bit, and the crust that formed at the top of my glass let off notes of caramel crumble, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and hint of toasted sesame. The cup sweetness was caramel-toned and creamy, very nice in the City +/Full City range, accented by a hint of vanilla bean, and chocolate biscotti. Chocolate flavors have ample sweetness behind them and come off a bit like Hershey’s chocolate bar. The coffee cooled to a lactic hint of sweetened condensed milk, with hazelnut chocolate in the aftertaste. The acidic impression had a pleasant tea-like impression in our lighter roasts, and very low intensity. Full City roasts showed more intense cocoa bittersweetness, with a sweet-nutty accent of chocolate-covered almonds, and a long finish.
